Still Waters Fellowship of Texas
Serving Those Who Served Through Faith, Fellowship, and the Great Outdoors
Join Our Team: Volunteer with Still Waters
At Still Waters Fellowship of Texas, our mission is simple: to offer veterans, first responders, and emergency personnel a place of refuge, community, and rest on the water. We organize cost-free guided fishing trips to help our heroes heal, reconnect, and build lasting bonds.
We can't do this alone. Whether you’re an experienced angler, a boat owner, or simply someone who wants to serve behind the scenes, your time and talents make these life-changing experiences possible.
How You Can Serve
1. Kayak Fishing Guides
If you know your way around a fishing kayak and love helping others catch fish, we need you on the water. As a Kayak Fishing Guide, you will:
Lead small-group kayak excursions on local Texas lakes and waterways.
Assist participants with gear setup, basic paddling techniques, and safety on the water.
Share local knowledge, fishing tips, and encouragement throughout the trip.
Requirements: Experience operating a fishing kayak, basic water safety knowledge, and a heart for mentorship.
2. Volunteer Bass Boat Captains
Not every veteran or first responder is physically able or comfortable fishing from a kayak. To ensure no hero gets left on the bank, we are looking for volunteer boat owners willing to donate their time and vessel for guided trips. As a Bass Boat Captain, you will:
Host 1–2 veterans or first responders on your bass boat for a day of fishing.
Provide a stable, accessible, and safe environment for participants who prefer or require a traditional powerboat experience.
Requirements: A safe, reliable bass boat, proof of insurance, and valid state boat operator credentials.
3. Shoreline & Event Support
Prefer to keep your feet on dry land? We always need volunteers to help host our events!
Assist with events during the year.
Offer prayer support, warm hospitality, and encouragement to participants and their families.
Why Volunteer?
Direct Impact: Help provide a peaceful, pressure-free environment for first responders and military veterans working through stress, trauma, or physical challenges.
Community: Connect with a network of Christian outdoor enthusiasts who share your passion for fishing and service.
Faith in Action: Put your faith into practice by serving as the hands and feet of Jesus to those who sacrifice so much for our communities and nation.
